While I am adding the finishing touches to some longer posts, I will share with you photos from a dinner party I hosted over the weekend. We were celebrating two milestone birthdays, one for 45 and the other for 90 years. I drew inspiration from a photo on my Pinterest page, and designed a Chinese table scape, for one because my mom, Frances, had oodles of Chinese plates (and this is not an exaggeration). Frances did very little in moderation, and when it came to collecting blue and white, she did it with gusto (and my siblings and I are the fortunate recipients of her enthusiasm). Secondly, the 90-year old celebrant spent many years living in China after his service in WWII, and is an ardent collector of contemporary Chinese art. The majority of the china on the table is from Frances, and to fill in the gaps, I bought some nice reproductions at the French Bee on Camelback Road. Flowers are by Camelback Flowershop, and my good friend George Abrams, a local party planner, lined up the talented Chef Charlie Blonkenfeld to cater. Enjoy! xoM
