Louisiana native, Paul Fleming, has left a lasting mark on the restaurant scene in my adopted home of Arizona. From opening Ruth’s Chris on Camelback Road in 1985, to developing P.F. Chang’s in 1993, to the rolling out of Pei Wei Asian Eatery and most recently Paul Martin’s American Grill, Paul Fleming has been a leading innovator in the restaurant industry. After selling his Ruth’s Chris franchises, Paul envisioned his own line of steakhouses, and developed Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar (Fleming’s) which now under the umbrella of Bloomin’ Brands, has grown to 70 restaurants nationwide.
Fleming’s has been a go-to for special events over the course of many years, so I was thrilled to be invited to sample a few items off their menu and to hear about the menu they are featuring in celebration of Father’s Day this weekend, June 15-17. Starting at 10 AM, Fleming’s will offer a three-course brunch menu, featuring Fleming’s Steak & Egg Scramble, sliced filet mignon, blistered tomatoes and caramelized onions, served with a scramble of farm fresh eggs and vegetables.
In the evenings, guests can celebrate fathers with a three-course menu whose highlight includes a 35 oz. prime Tomahawk steak, as well as a premium bourbon tasting experience. The main menu will be available all day as well. I ordered a Petit Filet with Scallops and Shrimp off the seasonal menu, which was outstanding. May y’all have a happy and healthy weekend toasting the men in your lives. My father would have turned 100 this summer and I know he would have wanted to be fêted with an Old Fashioned and filet mignon…cheers to you, Dad! XoM
