Due to the recent crisis at hand, restaurants all over the country are currently experiencing low volume and staff cuts. During times like these, it’s up to us to keep our favorite, local businesses open and thriving. Although the latest regulations caused restaurants and bars to close their dining spaces to the public, many of these businesses are simply shifting their services and are still available for local takeout and delivery.
In this Local Takeout Guide, I have compiled a list of my personal favorite restaurants whose kitchens are still open. I have also highlighted some of the best carryout deals available in the valley! Together, we can help support to keep these local spots up and running. Please read to the end to see more ways to support our fantastic restaurant community and leave me a comment if I have missed any!

Ways to Support Local Businesses
#TakeOutForTeams
Want to do more? Two of Arizona’s largest restaurant groups, Upward Projects and Fox Restaurant Concepts, are launching a campaign, #TakeOutForTeams, to raise $500,000 in donations to support hospitality workers who cannot work due to the current ban on in-restaurant dining. During this campaign, donations from customers picking up carryout meals at their 40 restaurants statewide, along with other local takeout restaurants who have been invited to join, will make up the funds. Restaurants who want to be involved in the campaign can email community@upwardprojects.com!
Farmers Markets
Another way to offer support is by visiting your local farmers markets. Most farmer’s markets are still since they are consider an essential business providing access to groceries. As many vendors as small businesses, it’s a great way to help support them while also feeding your family. Open markets are making operational changes to ensure your health and safety while shopping. Check with your favorite market’s social media for the most up-to-date information.
Local Food Banks
Let’s not forget our local food banks during this time of need as well. Arizona’s food banks are experiencing an increase in need and looking for healthy volunteers to meet the increase in demand. All food banks are taking extra precaution to ensure volunteer safety including limiting the number of volunteers, providing gloves and hand sanitizer, and routinely cleaning surfaces. You can learn more about volunteer opportunities here.
