The Super Bowl in Phoenix is just one week away, and if you are coming to the Valley of the Sun for the big event, you are going to want to know where to go to eat! Granted, many places will have already sold out of reservations, so I will include a list of restaurants and bars where you can order online for take out, or pop in and enjoy a cocktail while you wait for a table (maybe for hours, but hey, at least you will have great cocktails while you wait!). I have also included links to other blog posts of mine to give you some more ideas on where to watch the Super Bowl in Phoenix.
This is the fourth time that the Valley of the Sun has hosted the Super Bowl. The first time was in 1996 between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was newly engaged and my fiancé’s father was the Governor of Arizona at the time, so we had all-access passes to everything. I invited my parents out here from Texas, and my father was able to watch his beloved “Boys” sweep in a 27-17 victory. We were seated in a prime suite overlooking Sun Devil Stadium on the campus of Arizona State University while Diana Ross flew in via helicopter to perform the half-time show. We watched Hootie and the Blowfish sing “Hold My Hand” in the pregame event and bumped into George Clooney and Anthony Edwards at the after parties. To say it was magical would be an understatement. I won’t be attending this game, but I my hope is that these tips add a little magic to your stay in our Valley of the Sun, and maybe you will understand why 4.9 million of us call it home. xoM
