🇫🇷 2024 Olympics in Paris 🇫🇷
🍾Fun fact: The last Olympics hosted in Paris was in 1924.
🏹 Paris used some of its most iconic landmarks as venues: beach volleyball in front of the Eiffel Tower, archery at the Invalides, and equestrian sports at the Palace of Versailles.
⛷️ This was my third Olympic Games I have attended: the first was 1976 in Innsbrook, Austria (I don’t remember much), and the second was in 1992 in Albertville.
🏐🏊🏻‍♀️ To get tickets we entered a lottery and were able to see women’s volleyball, beach volleyball, women’s soccer, and lots of swimming (yes including Ledecky and Marchand).
🚇 In my opinion, as a spectator, I felt that overall the Olympic Games were very well organized. We took the metro to get just about everywhere. At every venue and corresponding metro stop there were volunteers to help guide the way and answer any questions. I feel very fortunate that even in some cases we were able to attend as many as two events a day.
🥐 The only thing I felt they could’ve done better was regarding the food in the venues, which was subpar at best.
🥂 Overall, je suis très heureuse et très reconnaissante d’avoir eu la chance d’y aller. (I’m not sure if that’s 100% grammatically correct but I’m working on it!)

Now that the weather’s cooled down, I’m ready

Now that the weather’s cooled down, I’m ready for all the outdoor events, starting with last weekend’s Taco Fest @tacosphx sponsored by Tequila Corrido at Salt River Fields!🌮🌞 Hubby and I had a blast tasting tacos from dozens of vendors (with Lalo’s Tacos taking the top spot for me!), and the Agave Spirits Show didn’t disappoint either. I sipped old favorites like @herradurateq and @tequilaocho, and discovered new ones like @desertdoor Texas Sotol and the cleverly named @bajarribatequila. 🎉
Running into Taco Fest co-founder David Tyda and meeting Jose Ralat, the incredible taco editor from Texas Monthly, was such a highlight—I even picked up his book (and btw have you seen the latest Texas Monthly with Ralat’s picks for the best tacos in Texas?!)
